Donna Beth Creations Ratings and Reviews
Emma
Sep 05 '22 at 03:12 AMI am extremely disappointed with my experience at Donna Beth Creations. I am getting married in TWO WEEKS and I cannot wear the dress that I purchased and fell in love with because the Donna Beth team rendered in unwearable. The actual quality of the alterations is extremely poor considering the amount of money that Donna Beth charges. All of the hem lines on my dress are crooked and sloppy. Not a single hem on the dress is straight. It all seems very rushed and each hem follows a wavy line. Additionally, Donna’s team had me come in for two separate appointments to take measurements for bringing in the waist line. I am 5’5 and 120 pounds and needed a snatched waist line while still keeping it roomy enough at the top for my breasts and somewhat wider rib cage. Some how, donna’s team made the dress too tight at my rib cage despite two measurement appointments. I scheduled an earlier appointment to come in and try the dress on because I was so stressed that it was too tight and truly made me look like I was wearing a dress that was too small for me. Donna’s team told me that it was how the dress should fit and stated that I should leave the dress unclipped at the top of the zipper (😒) and that the dress would stretch out once I wore it around. I left still feeling uncomfortable with the fit and quality but figuring I voiced my concerns and felt like there was nothing to be done at that point because I was discouraged from continued alterations to correct the tightness. When I picked up my dress they had me sign a waiver that waived them from all quality concerns and that I was happy with the final result (even though I obviously wasn’t and had expressed this before). Well, I’m standing in my wedding dress at home as I type this review and now I see that my French bustle ties are done on the top of my dress and create a huge pucker on the back of my dress - which completely ruins the clean silhouette of the back of the dress. I also found loose threads at the end of the dress which will need to be snipped. Ultimately, after paying $800 for alterations I expected a lot better quality. A custom altered dress should fit the bride, not the bride trying to fit into the dress. I’ve learned my lesson that you do not get quality for the amount that you pay and I am very disappointed that I feel so awful and uncomfortable in a dress that I am supposed to wear for my wedding in 2 weeks. Brides, if you’re getting ready to consider Donna for your alterations take into account that there are a team of stylists working on this dress and it is not Donna herself. The ultimate outcome and quality of the dress will be a mystery depending on who works on your dress and how much time they decide to spend on it. I feel absolutely cheated and heartbroken that my perfect dress is ruined. You’re supposed to feel beautiful on your wedding day and Donna Beth Creations ruined that for me.
