HTX Photo Booth was founded by us, Zayda Cortez and Allen Alejandro, in 2018! Zayda is a University of Houston graduate with a background in marketing, blogging and design. Allen is photography, sales and tech expert. Together, we bring to the table all of the components for a wonderful customer experience and premium interface. We pride ourselves in providing our clients with the best in class and top of the line photo booth rental experience.

How did you start?

The idea for HTX Photo Booth was born when we attended my cousin’s wedding and noticed that the photo booth she rented was the STAR of the show (besides the bride, of course). Everyone, of all ages and backgrounds, was huddled by the photo booth impatiently waiting for their chance to take a photo!

We believe this is because everyone loves creating and sharing moments, especially during once in a lifetime events, and a photo booth helps us do just that!

A few days later, when we returned home and hung our photos on the fridge, we relived that night all over again. That is when we knew we wanted to bring this pleasure to Houston, TX! What are great reasons to get a photo booth for a wedding?

Like we mentioned, people of all ages and backgrounds LOVE taking photos and making memories. Many people like photo booths, because of the instant gratification that they provide. They like them because the photos serve as party favors. However, what they don’t often realize is that photo booths are also an EXPERIENCE. They give the guests something to do, that is fun and all-inclusive. We’ve noticed that people really unleash in front of the booth, and that mood transpires into the rest of the evening. It may be something about the props that helps them relax, or the thought of doing something as a group. Needless to say, photo booths serve as the cherry on top to any event, heck some may say as the main attraction.

Aside from what I’ve mentioned, there is one more thing that comes hand in hand with photo booths and that is social media! In our day and age, people LOVE to share their experiences, instantaneously. They love to share with friends and family those special moments when they are having fun and looking good. HTX Photo Booth provides social media stations so that wedding guests can not only take a beautiful photo home with them but can also share the digital version on their Instagram of Facebook on the spot! Many brides know this and understand how important it is for their guests to enjoy this benefit. Plus, photo booths provide couples with a different type of photography to look back on.

What are the current trends in photo booths at weddings?

The biggest trends we’ve noticed when it comes to photo booths at weddings are boxwood hedge backdrops, you know the ones that look like a wall of greenery, photo albums and social media sharing. Brides LOVE the boxwood backdrops because they bring a lively yet classic touch to their photos. They love the photo album element because their guests can sign it on the spot. And of course, social media integration is a must for photo booth rentals, because guests have grown to expect this benefit.

What are the typical services/packages offered by photo booths?

We offer three different packages that brides can customize to their liking. All of our packages come with:

  • Professional quality photography
  • A custom photo strip template
  • their backdrop of choice from our selection
  • High-quality props
  • Unlimited photo print sessions
  • An online gallery and an attendant

The couples can expect to pay $500 for a 2-hour package and the price can go up from there, depending on what they need. We also offer photo albums, social media stations, custom backdrops and props, green screens and more!

How much of a deposit is required?

We require a $200 deposit to be paid to secure your date. The remaining balance is due two weeks before the event.

We always send a contract with the deposit invoice stating all of the details and services that will be provided. We do this for transparency and for our customers to feel confident about booking our photo booth.

What is your policy on cancellation or refund?

We understand that sometimes things can happen. We will refund anything but the deposit, as long as the event is canceled at least 30 days before the agreed date. We are also open to rescheduling without a fee, as long as the requested date is open. This is common protocol in our industry as it takes time, resources and preparation to execute a wedding flawlessly.

What type of equipment do you use?

We use open-concept photo booths which help photograph bigger groups of people, DSLR cameras, wrinkle-free backdrops, professional lighting and high-quality props. We take pride in making sure that not only our photo strips are perfect for our clients, but also their full sized photos. Many photo booth companies use iPad cameras during their client sessions. You will notice this tends to be the case when you find a company with a price that seems too good to be true. If you are looking for high-quality photography, make sure you ask the photo booth company for examples of their work, and confirm that they will use high-grade cameras at your event.
