Texas Photographer with a Passion
Please introduce yourself to our readers.
My name is Kevin Paladino. I am the president /owner of COMPLETE weddings + events: Austin, College Station, Houston, Waco and West Texas. I have been in the wedding industry of 5 + years and have a deep passion and history of investing in those around me as I lead, coach, train, motivate and inspire. Before the wedding industry, I was a professional endurance coach (trained Ironman Triathlete’s) and all American Triathlete.
How did you become a wedding photographer?
I lead a team of professional wedding and event photographers across the state of Texas. Our foundation is built around the deep desire to provide a Raving Fan customer experience. We love connecting and building relationships with the couples and families we serve.
Weddings are full of emotion and we are looking for those moments for couples and families to enjoy for generations.
How would you describe your style?
Photo-journalistic is the easiest way to describe our approach to photography. While we know that there is a need for staged and group shots, our goal is to capture the ‘story of the day’ and all the most special moments that can and will happen. Weddings are full of emotion and we are looking for those moments for couples and families to enjoy for generations.
What is the criteria to follow when hiring a wedding photographer?
A relational connection is key as you strive to select a photographer. Areas to consider in your selection process:
- Review history? (Across multiple platforms)
- What’s included in packages/pricing?
- Is a signature release included?
- What is the turnaround time frame?
- Do they have an on-call or back up plan?
- What planning tools do they provide in helping couples articulate their expectations?
What should a wedding photography package include?
We highly suggest that a wedding photography package should include:
- Up to 8 hours of coverage on wedding day
- A signature release of images
- Edited Images
- Images available via web gallery
- Option to purchase prints/albums
How much does a wedding photographer cost?
The cost of a wedding photographer varies greatly. The old adage ‘you get what you pay for’ is true in the wedding photography industry. But that doesn’t mean it should break the bank and budget.
For a professional wedding photographer that has a depth of raving reviews, has a proven track record of quality and delivers results, you would expect to pay $1800 to $3000 depending on what is included.
If a couple chooses you as a photographer, what should they prepare and arrange ahead of time for you to be the most effective?
We always encourage couples to be keeping notes on the kinds of shots they desire for us to capture. The more details they provide the better. We offer a complementary online planning portal that allows them to provide those details as soon as they book us. With advanced planning and preparation, we ensure things go smoothly on the wedding day and helps us as we work on getting the edited images delivered as quick as possible.
What is your ideal wedding photo?
I am a sucker for the bride and father of the bride photos. So much emotion going for both of them. A significant / milestone day that changes their relationship is a powerful way. I am talking from experience here.
How does the weather affect wedding photography?
Just as a rainy or overcast day affects us in normal every-day life, so does it on wedding days. But it doesn’t have to ruin the day. Overcast days provide unique and softer lighting conditions that make for some amazing photos. I prefer sunset light when shooting outdoor photography. And the fall season is my favorite to capture some amazing photos.
Do you think one photographer is enough? If not, how many do you recommend and why?
Well … it depends. We have found that with proper planning ahead of time, that one photographer is plenty for weddings up to 250 guests. Then it’s really up to the specific needs of the couple. We realize when planning the wedding budget, everything counts. So we strive to keep the cost down on our wedding packages by including one photographer as standard. We easily can add a second photographer if needed.
